What’s so great about Nevis?
Nevis is one of two Caribbean islands that form part of St. Kitts and Nevis. The Nevis Peak dominates the island paradise. It’s a sun hat-shaped sanctuary with glorious white sandy beaches! It also boasts a colonial charm. That’s because it is one of the last bastions of the British Empire.
The island itself is only 36 square miles. Hardcore visitors might travel the island on foot. But, it’s easy enough (and more relaxing) to explore by car. Nevis features a plethora of Georgian period buildings, especially in the capital Charlestown. Unlike other former colonies like Australia, Nevis has retained much of its period charm.
One interesting fact about Nevis is that more visitors to the island make it their home! There is plenty of real estate in Nevis, and so one could easily find a property they love.
Plenty to see and do
Don’t think there is little to do on Nevis because that’s not the case! For a start, you could explore the urban areas like Charlestown. You may even wish to visit the old sugar plantations on the island. And if you venture off the beaten track, you could explore the island’s forest.
There are a plethora of activities to keep you occupied. For example, one could partake in some golf or do some mountain biking. You could even go scuba diving if you wish!
Of course, you may just wish to spend your time relaxing and enjoying the Caribbean sun! There are miles of lush and uncrowded sandy beaches you can enjoy. Or you could stay within the confines of your hotel.
Getting to the island
Most people that visit Nevis for a holiday do so by ship, believe it or not! It is also possible to do most of your journey to the island by air. One could take a flight to the airport at St. Kitts and then hop on a ferry to Nevis.
There are direct flights to St. Kitts from North America and even Europe as well. British Airways, for example, has a service that flies from London Gatwick airport in the UK.
Why do most people prefer to reach the island of Nevis by sea? The answer is simple: they want to enjoy the breathtaking views from the Caribbean Sea!
